Another passion is log cabins. My own home is a 200 year old log cabin and I have had the fun of refurbishing this 20' by 20' charmer as a guest cabin. It's a great place to house the kids and grandkids and provides extra beds for overnight visitors to Artworks. It is furnished to sleep 4, equiped with an outhouse, camp fire pit, wood stove, basic kitchen, hauled water and one 15 amp electrical circuit. Summertime guests can use this rustic abode, nestled in the middle of a pine forest, to view life at Artworks and spend some time with our wonderfull horses.
The cabin was trucked from Cobden to this location in the early 90's.
It originally had six rooms.
Over a period of many years the cabin was gutted inside and out. Walls
were repaired and rechinked. A porch was added. The interior was sandblasted and a plank floor was laid. The next year a new green roof
was added.
Finally in the fall of 2002, all was was complet and the cabin had its first
overnight visitors.

This is the view of the guest cabin from the back door of my home. Wintertime is very busy at Artworks as schooling of the horses goes on year round. We still enjoy visitors even though the guest cabin is in hibernation.
